Hi, I'm Paul Bailey Jr. My interest in photography started way back in high school when I took a photography class. At that time I used my Dad's 35mm Canon camera. Although I failed that class I still maintained an interest. It wouldn't be till I met my wonderful wife, Melissa that I had the opportunity to buy my own 35mm camera and start pursuing this again. So I did a few weddings and lots of group pictures for a few years till the interest got pushed back for a while. It wasn't until April 2005 that the world of technology and cameras finally merged to what it is today.

Melissa and I, along with a very good friend attended a photography class with Tony Ballenger as the instructor. He is an excellent instructor and a wonderful person to be around. He has a great sence of humor. It was in this class that I was able to buy my first high end digital SLR camera, The Fuji S2 Pro! I had told Melissa that we might have to get a new one before the class, She could not believe that on the first night, Tony told me that I needed to get a better camera before the next class. This was the camera that Tony recommended.

It was after the class when I found out about Gary Fong, through Behind the Lens. I read his blog and studied his works and techniques and was amazed at the pictures I was seeing. This was the style that I had been shooting, and I finally found someone that had succeeded with photography. The idea of doing nothing but photography is so exciting; I mean what’s there not to love. Happy people that welcome you into their lives to take pictures and enjoy the fellowship. That's perfect!!

So I have been doing this part time now for close to 4 years and loving it. I often write in my blog about the events and people in my life so I can share that with you. It’s important to build a relationship with your photographer, He / She is the one person you never see in the pictures but you see through the picture.
